After The Storm Comes Only Another One

People say after the storm comes the rainbow or that if you want the flowers you have to put up with the rain. Well it is not quite right. After the storm there is another one. You just get stronger in a way that makes you indifferent in the face of the other storm. To be honest, I cannot figure out the reason behind our innate need to believe that our suffering must be the price for something greater. Life can as well be mere suffering. Whether this struggle has a meaning or not, it is up to each individual. One may think that what I am saying is none sense because obviously after a rough time comes always peace. Well, no; not necessarily. To clear things up, I am going to suggest a simple experiment. Put your hand in a bucket of cold water and see how long you can stand it. Next, repeat the experiment by putting your hand in a bucket of hot water first and then in the same bucket of cold water and see how long you can stand it; you will have a completely different experience. Finally, repeat the experiment one last time by having two buckets; one is very hot water and one is moderately hot water. Put your hand in the moderately hot water first and see how long you can last. Then, rest a while and put the same hand in the very hot water until you cannot stand it anymore and then immediately transfer your hand to the moderately hot bucket. You will be able to stand it a lot longer even though the temperature of this moderately hot bucket did not change. It is exactly how things work out in our lives. We get tested with the extremes sometimes. This renders the unbearable challenge as a mere unpleasant experience. So it is not true that after the storm comes peace; it is just you who got used to the hard problems in a way that made the less hard ones look like ‘peace’. If you are still unconvinced, look at other people who are weaker than you. The problems you do not even notice in your life, are the absolute hell for those who are weak. The problem itself has not inherent degree of difficulty, nor can we measure how much effort it requires in order to overcome it. The experience of each person is independent from the others. However, humans are somewhat similar, biologically. So, sometimes we can feel a part of what others are feeling if we have been in their place before.
